Shea is an Analyst with a passion for using data to dig into the intersection of sustainability, urbanism, and multimedia storytelling. He graduated from Appalachian State University where he studied Planning and geospatial software. Shea engaged in a European perspective of planning at the University College Cork in Ireland, one of the most sustainable universities in the world, which led to research on the similarities of highland communities in the U.S. and the British Isles.

During his time at Urban3, Shea has conducted analysis for towns and cities ranging from small rural communities like Austin, Minnesota and Gainesville, Texas to larger regional anchors like Rapid City, South Dakota. Shea is excited to continue his work analyzing the land use patterns of communities across the country in an effort to create more resilient, sustainable communities.
