Why Well-Designed Neighborhoods Pay the Bills
Get ready for a deep dive into city economics, community growth, and urban design. Recognized as one of the 100 most influential urbanists of all time, Joe Minicozzi will demonstrate how communities can utilize local data and simple math to gain a powerful understanding of their fiscal health, and plan for a healthy economic future. This is a must-attend event that will change the way you think about the cost of development, sprawl, and the value of land.

What is your vision for the future of Lake Wales?
Lake Wales Envisioned will guide growth and conservation throughout the city and its surrounding utility service area for decades to come. The foundation of this plan is community input, and we encourage all to get involved! This plan should lead to growth that will be economically and environmentally sensible, worthy of historic Lake Wales, and representative of the community’s priorities.
This work is being undertaken by the same planning experts who led the City’s award-winning Lake Wales Connected plan for the core of town. This new initiative, Lake Wales Envisioned, widens the scope to cover the city as a whole and beyond, including potential future growth at the edge.
There will be many opportunities to interact with City staff and the planning team throughout the process, including in person at local events, online at virtual workshops, and anytime on this website.
